About Musevector

Helping Technical Innovation Move From Funding Opportunity to Commercial Reality

Musevector Advisory was created to help technology founders, scientists, engineers, and early-stage companies navigate one of the most difficult transitions in innovation: moving from a promising idea to a fundable program, and from federally supported research toward a viable commercial opportunity.

SBIR and STTR programs can provide critical non-dilutive funding for emerging technologies. But securing an award requires more than strong science or engineering. Applicants must communicate technical novelty clearly, define a credible development path, demonstrate commercial relevance, and show why the proposed work matters.

Musevector helps companies bring those pieces together.

Our work spans proposal development, Phase II strategy, commercialization planning, and Technical and Business Assistance support. The objective is not simply to produce a stronger document. It is to help clients develop a more coherent strategy around the technology itself.

Our Approach

Technology First

Every engagement begins with the innovation.

We seek to understand what the technology does, why it is different, what technical risk remains, and what successful development could make possible.

Structured Thinking

Complex proposals often become difficult to evaluate because strong ideas are buried beneath technical detail.

Musevector helps organize the argument—connecting the problem, innovation, technical approach, milestones, market opportunity, and commercialization pathway.

Collaborative Development

The technical expertise remains with the client.

Our role is to work alongside founders and technical teams to surface that expertise, challenge assumptions, identify gaps, and translate complex material into a clear and compelling narrative.

Commercialization From the Outset

Winning an SBIR or STTR award can be an important milestone, but it is not the ultimate objective.

Musevector approaches proposal development with Phase II, customers, partnerships, market adoption, and future growth already in view.

Founder and Principal

Musevector Advisory was founded by Rattan N. Whig, a technology and program management professional with extensive experience leading complex initiatives across technology, product, operations, and business organizations.

His background includes managing multi-million-dollar programs, coordinating large portfolios of concurrent initiatives, leading cross-functional delivery teams, and working with senior stakeholders across highly regulated and technology-intensive environments.

That experience informs Musevector’s approach: break complex problems into manageable structures, communicate clearly across technical and business audiences, identify dependencies and risks early, and keep execution connected to the larger strategic objective.

Musevector applies those same disciplines to technology commercialization and federal innovation funding.

Why Musevector

A technically impressive innovation can still struggle if the story surrounding it is fragmented.

The problem may not be clearly defined. The proposal may not sufficiently distinguish the technology. Technical milestones may not align with the commercialization argument. Market assumptions may remain untested.

Musevector works across these boundaries.

We help clients connect:

Technology → Funding → Validation → Commercialization

The result is a more coherent narrative for reviewers, partners, customers, and future sources of capital.

Independent Advisory

Musevector Advisory is an independent consulting firm. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the U.S. Small Business Administration or any federal agency.

Funding decisions remain solely with the relevant agencies and review bodies, and no advisory firm can guarantee an SBIR or STTR award.
